Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Conduct inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify any faults or malfunctions.

• Modify equipment and carry out repairs or replacements of defective parts, components, or systems to restore them to original manufacturer specifications.

• Perform tests on repaired equipment to verify their operational performance.

• Commission new equipment as necessary.

• Maintain accurate records of time, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists.

• Stay updated with industry trends, customer needs, product innovations, and technical best practices.

• Adhere to safety policies and comply with relevant government, customer, or industry regulations.

• Recognize and report unsafe work practices, workplace incidents, and near misses; conduct Take Five risk assessments prior to each task.

• Ensure the maintenance of hand tools and equipment for safe usage.

• Keep a tidy work area in accordance with housekeeping standards.

• Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety training sessions.

• Utilize required personal protective equipment at all times.

• Provide training at customer locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in a relevant mechanical or electrical discipline, or equivalent experience as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic.

• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience with surface mining equipment.

• Proficiency in both French and English.

• Previous experience with Sandvik equipment or products is advantageous.

• Competence in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.

• Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical and mechanical problems on mining equipment.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient in computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.

• A valid driver’s licence is required.

• Willingness to travel to mine sites and across Canada as needed.

• Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
