Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical and sales support to clients.

• Travel to customer locations and manufacturing sites both domestically and internationally.

• Assist with equipment installations, startups, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections.

• Offer onsite technical assistance for equipment operation and repair.

• Inspect and test machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation and performance.

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, operating manuals, and technical documentation.

• Diagnose equipment problems and develop effective solutions.

• Conduct instrument loop checks and system safety evaluations.

• Troubleshoot and adjust equipment controls and integrate systems.

• Utilize PLC knowledge for troubleshooting, programming, design, and maintenance support.

• Provide training to customers on the operation and maintenance of equipment.

• Investigate equipment malfunctions and customer complaints to determine corrective actions.

• Prepare comprehensive technical reports that document findings, recommendations, and resolutions.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales teams to address technical issues and enhance customer satisfaction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Practical mechanical and/or electrical experience with manufacturing equipment.

• Strong capability to troubleshoot machinery using technical principles, drawings, manuals, and established procedures.

• Familiarity with PLC controls and programming.

• Ability to understand and troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical systems.

• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

• Capacity to work independently and make informed decisions in the field.

• Outstanding communication skills and confidence when interacting directly with customers.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, and CADD applications is preferred.

• Valid driver's license required.

• Must possess a valid U.S. Passport or the ability to obtain one.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 80% of the time.

• Flexibility to work extended hours based on customer and project demands.

• Candidate should reside near a major airport.
