Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical assistance to clients primarily on-site and, to a lesser extent, via telephone or computer.

• Install, demonstrate, validate, troubleshoot, repair, and modify Conair equipment across various product lines.

• Execute startup, repair, and preventive maintenance service tasks at customer locations.

• Utilize troubleshooting methods during repairs, startups, and evaluations.

• Organize, plan, and carry out travel to and from job sites, which may include international travel.

• Record service activities and expenses through service reports, expense documentation, and product modification logs.

• Offer technical telephone support to customers, sales teams, and fellow technicians.

• Investigate and obtain solutions to technical challenges.

• Provide specialist support on at least one product line as a backup.

• Lead training sessions on the plant floor for customers regarding equipment operation and maintenance.

• Supply after-hours technical support as part of an on-call schedule.

• Uphold Conair service ethics related to safety, professionalism, appearance, communication, and quality of work.

• Report directly to the Field Service Supervisor.

• Primarily work at customer facilities, with some office-based phone support and administrative responsibilities; the role may be located in Franklin, PA, or a home office.


⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology (or a related field) is preferred, and/or a minimum of five (5) years of experience with industrial equipment akin to Conair equipment.

• The role typically anticipates up to ten (10) years of direct or relevant experience.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capacity to analyze and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, as well as software code.

• Proficiency with microprocessor controls and programming.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

• Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Competence in assessing and responding appropriately to situations for the benefit of the customer.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, SAP, and AutoCAD.

• Willingness to travel to customer job sites, including international destinations.

• Availability for after-hours technical support as part of an on-call rotation.
