Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and repair commercial and industrial floor cleaning equipment, either in the branch workshop or at client locations.

• Conduct field troubleshooting and repairs for technical and mechanical equipment malfunctions.

• Evaluate and respond to situations by following established procedures.

• Document design, reliability, and maintenance issues using field service management software.

• Complete all necessary service work reports, timesheets, and other documentation for the Branch Supervisor.

• Keep training and certifications up-to-date and in compliance with requirements.

• Ensure specified spare parts are stocked at appropriate levels in the service vehicle.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 5 years of relevant experience and training; or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of 3 years of prior experience in a similar or related field.

• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.

• Strong organizational abilities and communication proficiency.

• Capability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

• Proven product knowledge, ideally acquired through practical experience.

• Skilled in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

• Understanding of internal combustion engine operations.

• Proficient in reading, comprehending, and following electrical and hydraulic schematics.

• Competent in using basic electrical testing and diagnostic tools.

• Comprehensive knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Possession of DOT certification/qualification.

• Proficient in MS Office and other business applications.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

• Capability to interpret safety regulations, operational and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

• Competence in delivering effective presentations to customers or staff.

• Skill in applying fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world situations.

• Ability to apply common sense to written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.

• Capability to manage problems involving multiple concrete variables in standard situations.

• Ability to regularly lift or move objects weighing up to 100 pounds.

• Willingness to work in environments with electrical, mechanical, chemical, and airborne-particle hazards.
