Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct hands-on maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on OEM vehicle platforms as well as autonomous software and hardware systems utilizing engineering tools.

• Manage software and firmware flashing processes.

• Implement quick root-cause repairs, perform sensor calibrations, execute vehicle upfits, and carry out End-of-Line testing.

• Serve as a technical liaison for remote engineering assistance.

• Execute Technical Service Bulletins, recall initiatives, and hardware/software retrofitting.

• Validate Standard Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Create comprehensive service records, diagnostic reports, and failure analysis documents.

• Interpret complex engineering schematics and specifications to facilitate practical maintenance execution.

• Follow safety protocols, including Safety Management System (SMS), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.

• Ensure cleanliness in the shop and adherence to 6S, OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA standards.

• Offer engineering insights to enhance fleet reliability while maintaining fleet uptime and operational readiness.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience in field service, commercial vehicle maintenance, automotive diagnostics, or electro-mechanical repair in AV/robotics.

• Demonstrated full-stack troubleshooting abilities across OEM vehicle platforms and autonomous software/hardware systems.

• Expertise in using engineering-level tools, such as micro-ohm meters, digital multimeters, CAN bus analyzers, and wiring repair equipment.

• Excellent technical writing and comprehension capabilities, with proficiency in interpreting complex schematics and composing clear, organized diagnostic reports and service logs.

• Familiarity with safety and compliance standards, including LOTO, electrical safety, and OSHA/DOT/FMCSA regulations.
