Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical support and expertise both onsite and offsite for site work requests.

• Execute installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of ABB Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

• Prepare spare parts, testing tools and equipment, and ensure completion of necessary documentation.

• Submit detailed and thorough service reports promptly and follow up as necessary.

• Coordinate activities with related departments to meet objectives and ensure customer satisfaction.

• Communicate effectively with senior management, customers, vendors, and other team members.

• Provide insights on product quality issues to help minimize warranty costs.

• Engage hands-on with advanced equipment in industrial environments, including working at heights, in varied weather conditions, and around energized systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate degree in a technical field with 3 years of relevant experience, or a High school diploma/GED with 5 years of relevant experience, or military education/experience required.

• Valid driver’s license required.

• Authorization to work in the United States.

• Capability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels, from field technicians to senior management.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

• Willingness to travel 70% of the time.

• Experience with Medium Voltage drives and power electronics is preferred.

• Knowledge of motors, transformers, switchgear, and industrial communication protocols is preferred.

• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical documentation is preferred.

• Previous Field Service experience is preferred.
