Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical support and expertise both onsite and offsite in response to site work requests.

• Execute installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of ABB Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

• Prepare spare parts, testing tools, and equipment while completing necessary documentation.

• Timely submission of detailed and comprehensive service reports, with follow-ups when required.

• Coordinate activities with related departments to meet objectives and ensure customer satisfaction.

• Effectively communicate and present information to top management, customers, vendors, and colleagues.

• Provide feedback on product quality issues to help lower warranty costs.

• Operate in industrial environments, including work around advanced equipment, at heights, in varying weather conditions, and with energized systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate degree in a technical field with 3 years of relevant experience, or a High School diploma/GED with 5 years of relevant experience, or military education/experience required.

• A valid driver’s license is necessary.

• Authorization to work in the United States is required.

• Strong ability to communicate across all organizational levels, from field technicians to senior management.

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

• Willingness to travel 70% of the time.

• Experience with Medium Voltage drives and power electronics is preferred.

• Familiarity with motors, transformers, switchgear, and industrial communication protocols is a plus.

• Capability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical documentation is preferred.

• Previous experience in Field Service is preferred.
