Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical support and expertise both onsite and offsite for site work requests.

• Conduct installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of ABB Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

• Organize spare parts, testing tools, and equipment while completing the necessary documentation.

• Provide detailed and comprehensive service reports promptly and ensure follow-ups as required.

• Collaborate with Field Operations, Management, and related teams to meet objectives and enhance customer satisfaction.

• Effectively communicate and present information to top management, customers, vendors, and fellow employees.

• Offer feedback on product quality issues aimed at reducing warranty costs.

• Engage in hands-on work within industrial environments, which may involve working at heights, in diverse weather conditions, and near energized systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree in a technical field with 3 years of relevant experience OR a high school diploma/GED with 5 years of relevant experience OR military education/experience is required.

• A valid driver's license.

• Authorization to work in the United States.

• Capability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels, from field technicians to senior management.

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

• Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.

• Experience with medium voltage drives and power electronics is preferred.

• Familiarity with motors, transformers, switchgear, and industrial communication protocols is preferred.

• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical documentation is preferred.

• Prior field service experience is preferred.
