Field Service Operations Manager – Data Center Division

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily service operations for the Data Center Services Center of Excellence within ABB’s Electrification Services division across the United States.

• Take responsibility for the daily implementation within the Data Center Service segment.

• Build and develop the surge team for the Data Center segment and the broader Field Services organization.

• Enhance service availability, quality, and customer experience throughout field service operations.

• Formulate, execute, and evaluate a field service strategy that aligns with global business goals.

• Foster a customer-centric approach, emphasizing urgency and care in service interactions to promote retention.

• Champion continuous improvement, accurate execution on first attempts, and performance management based on KPIs.

• Spot on-site opportunities to improve customer operations and relay these to account teams.

• Lead initiatives for operational excellence, risk management, and comprehensive service delivery.

• Oversee resource planning, balance workloads, and ensure compliance with HSE standards and ABB Way requirements.

• Supervise Surge Team operations, including onboarding, training, compliance, and verification of timesheets, expenses, and supplier invoices.

• Offer leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to Field Service Engineers/Technicians.

• Collaborate with various ABB teams to assign personnel, address technical challenges, support project execution, and promote continuous improvement.

• Report directly to the Director of the Data Center Services Center of Excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent experience.

• In-depth knowledge of Data Center Start-up and Commissioning strategies, field service personnel development, and the electrical industry within the Data Center sector.

• Proficiency in the MS suite of products, including MS Project, as well as Google suite (Sheets, Docs, Drive, and Slides), SAP, and project issue resolution software (BIM, Compass, CxAlloy, Procore, etc.).

• Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.

• Technical knowledge of power delivery equipment: transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, etc.

• Uphold high standards for safety and housekeeping while ensuring compliance with all environmental regulations.

• Exceptional leadership skills, clear communication abilities, teamwork, and a proven customer-focused attitude.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Candidates must possess work authorization permitting employment with ABB in the US.
