Field Service Engineer – MD

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Coordinate and execute field service operations, which include instrument installation, on-site and depot repairs, and preventative maintenance visits.

• Liaise with customer accounts for scheduling and follow-up communications.

• Collaborate with Territory Sales Managers regarding account activities.

• Maintain CRM records pertaining to warranty, service plans, and account contacts.

• Initiate and finalize service requests while following up with accounts.

• Provide service reports derived from field and depot service activities.

• Address technical support inquiries via telephone and email.

• Assist Engineering and Manufacturing teams in investigating production and design issues.

• Suggest modifications to design and manufacturing processes based on field insights.

• Offer input and guidance on repair procedures.

• Develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for service and repairs.

• Maintain collaborative relationships with US Production, Service, and Engineering departments.

• Report directly to the Director of Global Service.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a Scientific, Engineering, or Technical field.

• Over 5 years of experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Service settings.

• A strong interest and capability to engage with customers via phone or in person.

• Experience in a laboratory or clinical environment is advantageous.

• Familiarity with electronic testing methodologies.

• Experience with advanced measurement instruments like multimeters and oscilloscopes is beneficial.

• Skills and knowledge in instrument assembly and disassembly.

• Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and internet usage.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Competence in effectively managing one's schedule.

• Capability to work autonomously when necessary.

• Willingness to travel as required.

• Must be based in North Carolina or Maryland.
