This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +3 more states.
• Conduct installations, upgrades, preventative maintenance, and repairs of Saphyr and Stratys systems at customer locations.
• Identify and address complex instrument issues to reduce downtime effectively.
• Maintain consistent and proactive communication with customers and internal teams to ensure issues are resolved and satisfaction is achieved.
• Collaborate with local and global Field Service Engineers (FSE), Field Application Scientists (FAS), sales teams, development units, and technical support staff.
• Deliver timely and precise reports regarding installations and maintenance, including parts orders, returns, and expenses.
• Update customer information for internal stakeholders and provide technical feedback or design recommendations for product enhancements.
• Effectively utilize the company’s customer relationship management system (CRM).
• Execute additional tasks as directed.
• Experience in aligning and troubleshooting imaging systems or similar research/clinical devices.
• Strong professional communication and writing abilities, with a knack for engaging effectively with customers and internal partners.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Hold a valid passport or have the capability to obtain one within three months of starting the position.
• Reside near a major airport.
• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Biosciences, or relevant military experience with expertise in electronics or optical imaging.
• A minimum of four years of experience supporting capital equipment within research or clinical settings.
• Preferred experience in capital equipment support in a research laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with complex electronics troubleshooting, LASER imaging, or Linux server/networking is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel, including internationally, without personal assistance.
• Capability to operate and drive motor vehicles.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
• Capacity to work in varying temperatures, hazardous conditions, areas with low ventilation, noisy environments, and confined spaces.
