This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +3 more states.
• Deliver technical support during all stages of GIS project implementation, which encompasses installation, commissioning, testing, acceptance, and handover.
• Provide on-site oversight for the installation and commissioning of GIS substations.
• Coordinate troubleshooting efforts involving field personnel and subcontractors.
• Assist and supervise contracted maintenance tasks.
• Keep comprehensive site documentation, including operational procedures, performance reports, test data, and equipment manuals.
• Collaborate and communicate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure seamless site execution.
• Partner closely with customers on-site to enhance service outcomes and satisfaction.
• Ensure the correct usage and maintenance of tools, equipment, vehicles, materials, and supplies at job sites.
• Uphold compliance with relevant external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
• Candidates must possess work authorization allowing them to be employed by Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in technical field service roles.
• A technical diploma or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) is preferred.
• Trade education and experience in Industrial Mechanic and Electrical fields will be taken into account.
• Strong mechanical and electrical competencies.
• Experience in leading teams on electrical projects.
• Capability to read and interpret contracts, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and testing equipment software.
• Willingness to travel up to 80%, including trips to Canada and Mexico.
• A valid US driver’s license is required.
• Fluency in English is essential.
