Field Service Engineer – Chicago Area

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee installation supervision, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair activities for low voltage distribution gear, transformers, and associated power distribution equipment.

• Generate technical reports and test documentation.

• Track spare parts, tools/equipment, and consumables.

• Uphold and adhere to company and site-specific safety protocols.

• Participate in relevant site meetings.

• Collaborate effectively with Project Management and site personnel.

• Deliver excellent customer service, meet client requirements, and escalate issues for prompt resolution.

• Maintain regular communication with Project Managers, ensuring timely information exchange.

• Actively work to eliminate waste and enhance process value.

• Comply with health and safety regulations, safe work practices, company policies, and guidelines.

• Willingness to travel over 50% of the time and respond to emergency calls within a 2-hour timeframe.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess an Associate's degree in electrical power distribution or a related field, and/or have 3+ years of relevant experience in a related discipline.

• Military experience is highly regarded.

• Preferred experience in Data Center or equivalent mission-critical systems.

• Proven experience with electrical power distribution systems.

• Familiarity with power monitoring systems.

• Experience in AC/DC electrical power systems.

• Proficient in utilizing communication protocols.

• Ideally, three to five years of experience in designing low voltage switchgear assemblies/systems and/or power distribution equipment.

• Knowledge of relevant UL Standards, including UL67, UL1008, UL10008S, UL60950, UL891, and UL1558.

• Availability for travel exceeding 50%.

• Capability to work on-call, during weekends, and fulfill required overtime.

• Ability to respond to emergency calls and arrive within 2 hours.
