This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.
• Provide exceptional mechanical services to improve machine functionality and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Assist in the delivery, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and continuous servicing of TOMRA Food solutions.
• Ensure mechanical systems meet customer expectations consistently.
• Address mechanical issues in the field and ensure swift resolution or communicate plans and estimated costs.
• Conduct mechanical installations, commissioning, testing, integration, optimization, maintenance, and repairs at customer sites.
• Install, inspect, and service components including sprockets, chains, belts, shafts, bearings, gearboxes, motors, rollers, frames, and guarding.
• Analyze, assess, and diagnose mechanical equipment, troubleshooting machine issues effectively.
• Execute preventative, pre-season, and post-season maintenance to optimize machine performance.
• Keep customers informed and advise sales leadership on potential sales opportunities or customer concerns.
• Foster strong relationships with the Customer Care Centre team and provide regular updates on service matters.
• Address or escalate customer complaints, ensuring timely, clear, and professional investigation or resolution.
• Advocate for a culture centered on safety.
• A preferred industrial trade qualification in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, electronic, automation, or industrial manufacturing, or an equivalent degree/diploma.
• Over 3 years of experience as a field service engineer or similar educational background.
• Relevant experience in diagnosing mechanical equipment issues.
• Proficiency in PC building, repair, and diagnostic testing.
• Essential knowledge of PC and MS Office suite.
• Capability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience with packaging and/or printing machinery is advantageous.
• Outstanding customer service skills are mandatory.
• Ability to present information and respond to inquiries from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience in engaging customers within a service delivery setting.
• Physical capability to frequently bend, kneel, stand, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to perform under pressure.
• Capacity to lift up to 20 kg regularly.
• Ability to discern the full range of colors in the color spectrum.
• No significant food allergies that would hinder working around or near food, nuts, fruits, and vegetables.
• Willingness to work in food processing plants, farms, cold storage areas, and outdoors in varying temperatures.
• Availability and willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively, up to 40% of the time.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License and be able to drive without restrictions.
• Must be eligible to obtain a valid passport for travel.
