Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Assist with sophisticated Metrology and Inspection systems.

• Offer on-site assistance for the installation, upgrades, calibration, maintenance, and repair of metrology and inspection equipment.

• Identify and resolve complex hardware and software issues either independently or in collaboration with engineering teams.

• Handle escalations and critical situations involving customers.

• Act as the main point of contact between the factory and customers for the collection of performance data, reliability analysis, and tracking of satisfaction.

• Compile comprehensive Field Service Reports that document tool performance, resolution of issues, and updates on installations.

• Provide feedback to engineering teams regarding serviceability, reliability, and installation metrics.

• Assist with beta programs at customer locations and engineering centers.

• Offer technical support via phone.

• Take part in on-call rotations as necessary.

• Function as the primary technical contact for customers, ensuring outstanding service and satisfaction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.

• Alternatively, an Associate degree or technical certification coupled with over 5 years of relevant experience in semiconductor field service.

• Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot intricate systems in semiconductor or manufacturing settings.

• Practical knowledge of semiconductor processes and/or metrology inspection equipment.

• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.

• Preferred experience in electronics.

• Understanding of semiconductor safety, ergonomics, and yield requirements.

• Fundamental software troubleshooting abilities.

• Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Customer-oriented approach.

• Capability to collaborate and work autonomously under pressure.

• Exceptional time management and project management skills.

• Flexibility in adapting to dynamic environments.

• Keen attention to detail in documentation and diagnostics.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

• Must fulfill visa and site access criteria.

• Comfortable working in cleanroom settings, including gowning and using breathing apparatus.

• Physical capability to bend, crawl, and work around semiconductor systems.
