Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Install, commission, and set up equipment according to the specifications of the company and client.

• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to guarantee optimal performance of equipment.

• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and software-related problems.

• Repair or replace faulty components and parts as necessary.

• Respond swiftly to service calls and customer support inquiries.

• Accurately document service activities, maintenance logs, and repair reports.

• Offer technical training and operational guidance to customers and end users.

• Work collaboratively with engineering, technical support, and sales teams to address complex challenges.

• Monitor equipment performance and suggest enhancements or upgrades.

• Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.

• Manage service tools, testing equipment, and spare parts inventory effectively.

• Travel frequently to customer locations as required, with an expected travel rate of approximately 90%.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or Military Equivalent.

• A minimum of 2 years of field service, maintenance, or technical support experience is preferred.

• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

• Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

• Capability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and service management systems.

• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel extensively.

• Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work in industrial settings for prolonged periods.

• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and holidays.

• Readiness to travel internationally on an as-needed basis.

• Completion of Military Advanced Electronics School is a plus.

• Experience in capital equipment support is a plus.
