Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct preventive and general maintenance for analytical and metallographic equipment.

• Execute breakdown repairs, troubleshooting, and corrective measures.

• Install new equipment and implement updates or upgrade kits.

• Educate customers on theory, operation, software, and effective maintenance practices.

• Develop and nurture customer relationships as a representative of the company.

• Assist with service activities at customer sites.

• Maintain precise inventory records, expense reports, and vehicle logs.

• Serve customers in the Southwestern Region, mainly Texas and Louisiana, with potential travel to adjacent areas as necessary.

• Operate remotely with minimal oversight, spending the majority of time at customer locations.

• Self-driven and responsible when working independently with limited supervision.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Comply with customer site protocols and safety regulations.

• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.

• Participate in instrumentation training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan for 3–5 months.

• Complete field service training alongside experienced field service engineers across the country.

• Attend annual service training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan.

• Willingness to travel daily, including up to four overnight stays per week, Monday to Friday.

• Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving history.

• Successfully pass a background check and substance abuse screenings.

• Authorized to work in the US without restrictions.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Previous experience in AC and DC electronics, or the ability to learn.

• One or more of the following: Two Year Technical Degree, Trade School, prior military experience with technical-field training, or equivalent experience or training in a technical field.

• A background in chemistry or military service is a plus, but not mandatory.
