Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver preventive and general maintenance for analytical and metallographic instruments.

• Execute breakdown repairs, troubleshooting, and corrective measures.

• Install new instruments and carry out updates and upgrade kit installations.

• Educate customers on theory, operation, software, and effective maintenance practices.

• Keep precise inventory records, expense reports, and vehicle logs.

• Develop and sustain customer relationships as a representative of the company.

• Assist with service activities at customer locations.

• Participate in mandatory instrumentation and annual service training in St. Joseph, Michigan.

• Complete field service training with seasoned field service engineers across the country.

• Travel throughout the Northwestern Region and adjacent areas as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Self-driven and responsible when working remotely with minimal supervision.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to comply with customer site and safety protocols while maintaining professionalism.

• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.

• Willingness to travel daily, including up to four overnight stays per week from Monday to Friday.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.

• Ability to pass background checks and substance abuse tests.

• Must be authorized to work in the US without restrictions.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Prior experience with AC and DC electronics, or a willingness to learn.

• One or more of the following: Two-Year Technical Degree, Trade School, prior military experience with technical training, or equivalent work experience/training in a technical field.

• A background in chemistry or military experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
