This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Deliver on-site professional automotive and business assistance to GM retail and wholesale sectors.
• Assess and guide repairs on customer vehicles to minimize potential repurchases and lower warranty expenses.
• Provide third-level on-site support for complex automotive technical challenges.
• Address dispatch cases related to vehicle breakdowns or possible repurchase scenarios.
• Collaborate with the District Manager of Parts and Service, Regional Business Resource Managers, the Business Resource Center, GM Engineering, alongside other regional and national teams.
• Evaluate and enhance dealership comeback processes and service readiness.
• Review Preliminary Information bulletins and relay authorized field-fix information.
• Conduct training sessions at dealerships on Techline tools, applications, diagnostic tools, and equipment.
• Take ownership of dealership issues and drive resolution to closure.
• Address customer problem-resolution needs via phone or at dealership locations.
• Report on dealership service readiness status to help avert buybacks.
• Assist in dealer technician recruitment and retention initiatives.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with dealership management, particularly in service departments.
• Serve as a field resource and spokesperson for GM regarding automotive technical product information.
• Provide Field Product Reports to Vehicle/Powertrain Brand Quality Managers and GM Engineering.
• Support Better Business Bureau arbitration hearings and legal matters, including lemon-law cases.
• Offer warranty waste reduction recommendations to FSE Leadership and the BQM Team.
• 2-5 years of substantial hands-on experience in Automotive Dealership Service Department, vehicle diagnostics, or repair.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Proficient in MS Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook (or equivalent email/calendar application).
• Capability to manage, resolve, document, and close dispatch cases within stipulated timeframes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and self-train to enhance skills.
• Competence in developing and delivering specialized training.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Self-driven with a proactive mindset aimed at meeting and surpassing customer expectations.
• Must reside within the assigned territory or relocate to Irvine/Costa Mesa within a 30-mile radius.
• Must be willing to travel at least 50% of the time frequently.
• Must be legally permitted to work without GM immigration-related sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be legally capable of operating a motor vehicle and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review.
• Preferred: Over 10 years of hands-on experience in Automotive Dealership Service Department or equivalent vehicle diagnostics and repair.
• Preferred: Proficiency with Pico Scope.
• Preferred: Over 10 years of experience in customer handling, support, sales, administration, computer, or other relevant business skills.
• Preferred: Experience with computer hardware setup, internet, and wireless communications.
• Preferred: ASE A1-A9 plus Master Technician certification; T1-T8 plus Master Technician certification; L1, L2, and L3 certifications.
• Preferred: Understanding of LAN/WAN IT infrastructure.
