Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Act as the main technical liaison and representative of Formlabs throughout the DACH region and beyond.

• Travel to client locations to unpack, install, commission, and calibrate new 3D printing systems.

• Provide structured on-site training for users on equipment operation, software usage, and basic maintenance.

• Conduct live demonstrations of products.

• Quickly respond to customer downtime and carry out urgent repairs.

• Perform annual preventative maintenance visits within a 90-day target window.

• Diagnose electromechanical problems and achieve resolutions in a single visit.

• Carry out a significant volume of field service activities.

• Independently handle travel arrangements including flights, trains, hotels, rental cars, and expense management.

• Keep records of installations, training sessions, and repairs in Salesforce.

⛳️ Requirements

• Located in Munich or within a 45-minute commuting distance (highly preferred due to connectivity).

• Willingness to travel more than 80% of the time.

• Strong technical expertise in electromechanical and hardware systems.

• Excellent soft skills necessary for teaching others how to use the technology effectively.

• Proficient in both German and English at a C1 level.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Fluency in French is an advantage.

• A passion for 3D printing and emerging technologies is a plus.

• Experience in rapidly growing startup environments is an added benefit.
