Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Install and commission cutting-edge microscopy systems at client locations

• Conduct preventive maintenance and calibrate systems

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, vacuum, and software-related problems

• Troubleshoot intricate system failures and execute corrective measures

• Implement upgrades and modifications to current systems

• Offer technical support and training to clients, including scientists, lab technicians, and engineers

• Serve as the primary technical liaison for designated accounts

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through professional service delivery

• Maintain comprehensive service documentation and reports

• Oversee service schedules, parts inventory, and travel arrangements

• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards

• Collaborate with R&D, technical support, and sales teams to address issues

• Assist with remote diagnostics and digital service tools

• Identify recurring problems and recommend product or service enhancements

• Engage in technical training to remain updated with new technologies

• Exchange knowledge and best practices within the service organization

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Mechatronics, or a related discipline

• 2–5+ years of experience in field service

• Preferably experience with confocal microscopy, analytical instruments, or laboratory equipment

• Strong understanding of electronics and electromechanical systems

• Solid knowledge of imaging systems and optics

• Proficient in software applications

• Competent in system setup

• Ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals

• Expertise in troubleshooting hardware and software systems

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities

• Strong communication skills and customer interaction abilities

• Capacity to work independently in remote settings

• Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70–80%)

• Valid driver’s license

• Capability to work in laboratory and cleanroom environments

• Fluency in Spanish is required

• Proficiency in English is required

• Portuguese language skills are a plus
