Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Install, calibrate, diagnose, repair, and conduct preventative maintenance on assigned Biocare Medical instruments and equipment, as well as contracted third-party systems.

• Provide support for corporate and field-based equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

• Offer technical assistance to clients, the Biocare Medical Sales Team, Field Applications Specialists Team, and the Technical Support Department.

• Act as the on-site client representative for instrument and service-related issues.

• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, QA/QC, and R&D teams to address instrument issues, determine corrective measures, and ensure prompt follow-up.

• Participate in local, regional, and national histology/immunohistochemistry events as necessary.

• Travel both domestically and internationally as needed to reduce instrument downtime.

• Handle complex assignments and utilize considerable judgment to guarantee timely and effective equipment repairs.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by Management.

⛳️ Requirements

• The ideal candidate must reside within the greater Chicago area.

• An Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technologies or a closely related field, or equivalent experience is required.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer in the medical field or a closely related instrument service sector is necessary.

• Competency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting is essential.

• Experience with robotics and fluidics is advantageous.

• Preferred qualifications include specialized equipment repair training, experience, and/or certification.

• Advanced computer skills are required for daily administrative reporting and interaction with instrument hardware and software.

• A current valid driver’s license is mandatory.

• Must be able to travel 75% of the time, both domestically and internationally as required.
