Field Service Commissioning Technician – Swing Shift

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Deliver fuel cell services during field visit dispatches.

• Safely operate a service vehicle.

• Develop daily workflows based on scheduled tasks and work independently.

• Conduct on-site preventative maintenance, repairs, testing, and diagnostics.

• Adhere to company procedures and protocols.

• Identify technical errors and implement suitable solutions.

• Collaborate with technical teams and disseminate information throughout the organization.

• Understand and comply with customer access requirements.

• Manage the service vehicle and spare-parts inventory.

• Foster and maintain positive relationships with customers.

• Generate timely and detailed service reports.

• Undertake other assigned duties as required.

• Participate in two initial training sessions lasting up to four weeks each in San Jose, California.

• Report to the Northeast Region Field Service Manager and Remote/Field Office located in Connecticut.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside within the Service District.

• High school diploma with 6 years of experience in electrical, process controls, or electro-mechanical fields; or a technical diploma, Journeymen Certification, or Electrician Certification in a technical domain with 4 years of relevant industry experience; or over 5 years of relevant commercial electrical experience alongside electrical-related military experience.

• Proficient electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

• Knowledge of electrical safety standards, particularly OSHA and NFPA 70E.

• Familiarity with three-phase systems, uninterruptible power supplies, electrical generation and distribution systems, power electronics, automatic transfer switches, or microprocessor-based control platforms.

• Experience using electrical/electronic test and measurement equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams and blueprints.

• Experience performing equipment maintenance in compliance with ANSI/NETA standards for Electrical Power.

• Mechanical aptitude with skills in troubleshooting and repair.

• Capability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

• Proficient in written and verbal communication in English.

• Ability to execute written and verbal procedures and follow sequenced work instructions.

• Capable of regularly handling equipment up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lifting up to 70 lbs.

• Ability to reach, squat, bend, twist, use ladders or stepstools, and work at heights while adhering to safety protocols.

• Willingness to participate in 24x7 on-call duty and shift work.

• Flexibility to work alternative schedules, including Wednesday-Sunday shifts one week per month.

• Availability for overtime as needed.

• Regular travel throughout a large Service District, such as Connecticut and Upstate NY.

• Occasional travel to other US and international locations.

• Maintain a clean driving record in good standing.
