This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Execute and deliver physical audits and outcomes for NextGear Capital’s Risk organization.
• Support the client-facing Operations team in managing the dealer account portfolio.
• Perform physical and financial audits to evaluate client business health and associated risks.
• Build relationships with dealers to facilitate thorough risk assessments.
• Visit various dealer locations, auctions, repair shops, and other relevant sites.
• Investigate, observe, and document dealership processes and practices.
• Inspect collateral through lot and title audits.
• Assess dealer equity and business health for underwriting purposes.
• Verify inventory during market share conversions of $500,000 or more to mitigate risks and expand the portfolio.
• Present findings to dealers and outline next steps, which may include re-educating dealers, reviewing inventory trends, collecting payments, and obtaining necessary documentation.
• Assist the Recovery team with repossessions by gathering keys, securing collateral, arranging transportation to auctions, and monitoring daily funding receivables.
• Provide audit results through written, visual, and verbal communication to Operations, Risk, and Senior Leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field, typically requiring less than 2 years of experience in the auto industry or a related area; or 4 years of experience in a relevant field in place of a degree.
• 1-2 years of audit or inspection experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must be available and willing to travel regionally on short notice 75% of the time.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must reside within the designated territory covering the Winston-Salem area, including Statesville, Mooresville, Salisbury, Concord, and nearby counties.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to evaluate risk using sales documentation, physical inventory audit results, and dealer staff behavior.
• Capacity to maintain composure and professionalism in potentially challenging or aggressive field environments.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, sleet, and other inclement weather.
• Strong verbal communication and active listening abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple work activities simultaneously.
• Independent judgment and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in organization, preparation, workflow management, timelines, and setting clear expectations.
