This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Deliver comprehensive direct-sales coverage throughout the territory and successfully close deals.
• Provide ongoing insights regarding the business environment in the territory to management.
• Identify new business opportunities while ensuring the loyalty of the current customer base.
• Build and sustain professional sales relationships across engineering, marketing, purchasing, and senior management.
• Plan and conduct customer visits and presentations to enhance HBK awareness and create opportunities.
• Formulate strategies to expand HBK’s presence in the automotive, military, machinery, and other market sectors.
• Conduct basic hardware and software demonstrations of HBK products.
• Engage in regional trade shows and conferences to cultivate new business prospects.
• Develop and maintain sales forecasts in collaboration with inside sales.
• Collaborate with product marketing to pinpoint key applications where HBK provides unique value.
• Assist marketing with application insights and feedback.
• Record sales activities and opportunities within the CRM system.
• Network and seek new opportunities and contacts via social media.
• Act as HBK’s technical solutions provider in aerospace, defense, industrial automation, and power measurement applications.
• Oversee the Northern California sales territory, subject to future adjustments.
• Reside in Silicon Valley or the San Francisco Bay area.
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), or another technical field in engineering or physical sciences is strongly preferred.
• Proficient knowledge and experience in selling acoustics, sound/vibration measurement, instrumentation, test and measurement products, or sensors.
• Ideally experienced in Mechanical, Electrical, Acoustics, or Test Measurement domains.
• Self-driven and organized, capable of managing multiple concurrent tasks and projects.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical aptitude to understand a varied product line.
• Experience in instrumentation, test or data acquisition, or acoustics.
• Proven ability and experience in demonstrating technical products.
• Experience selling to the electric vehicle sector, system integrators, aerospace and defense, electric power measurement, or motor/inverter industries is advantageous.
• At least 5 years of sales experience achieving or surpassing sales quotas.
• Successful track record of working from a home office with minimal oversight.
• Familiarity with Miller Heiman Strategic, Conceptual Selling, or Sandler Sales System is a plus.
• Preference for experience with HBM and Brüel & Kjær products.
