This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi.
• Conduct both virtual and in-person investigations at the homes of policyholders.
• Evaluate property damage, ascertain liability, assess losses, and negotiate equitable settlements.
• Utilize claims management software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess damage and create estimates in a paperless setting.
• Assess and document potential subrogation opportunities.
• Report incidents of theft, fraud, or arson to relevant state and industry authorities.
• Operate independently, with responsibilities that directly influence management decisions.
• Represent the organization professionally in public engagements.
• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other pertinent parties.
• Negotiate with policyholders to reach settlement agreements on claims.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Advocate for safety and adhere to safety and ergonomic regulations.
• Travel away from home for catastrophe assignments, typically for 2-3 weeks, when part of the Catastrophe team.
• High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Strong customer service experience, preferably in a retail setting.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with smartphones and various applications.
• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be bondable.
• Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.
• Willingness and capability to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times daily.
• Comfortable working in small, confined spaces, such as attics and crawlspaces.
• Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training examinations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficiency in English speaking, reading, writing, and data entry.
• Willingness to commit to 1-3 catastrophe deployments annually.
• Candidates should reside within the Jackson, Mississippi hiring area.
