Field Medical Team Leader, Cardiology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Lead, manage, develop, and mentor a team of Rare Cardiology Field Medical professionals.

• Direct work prioritization and resource distribution within the team.

• Approve team expenditures related to travel, training, supplies, and other miscellaneous costs.

• Oversee HR functions including performance evaluations, salary planning, colleague recruitment, development strategies, retention, team culture, and conflict resolution.

• Ensure adherence to policies, guidelines, regulations, and necessary training completion.

• Work in partnership with the Medical Governance team and administrative staff.

• Support HQ Medical Affairs with strategic planning, insights from Field Medical, execution of medical plans, and budget management.

• Facilitate the assessment and implementation of major above-brand strategic initiatives.

• Maintain effective, appropriate, and compliant communication between HQ Medical Affairs, Field Medical, and commercial teams.

• Manage the Medical Review Committee approval process for Rare Cardiology Field Medical materials.

• Participate in Field Medical and cross-functional committees and teams.

• Engage with investigators and healthcare professionals during clinical and research activities.

• Communicate and comply with FDA and other U.S. regulations regarding HCP interactions and delivery of medical information.

• Promote the adoption of digital technologies and related offerings to enhance communication efficiency and customer experience.

• Keep abreast of scientific and medical literature along with advancements in Rare Cardiology.

• Operate a Pfizer company vehicle and frequently travel for HCP/customer meetings and NYHQ meetings.

• Travel is expected to be approximately 50% of the time.


⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO degree is mandatory.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.

• Proven leadership experience and the ability to influence, collaborate, develop, coach, manage, and guide colleagues.

• Leadership skills necessary to inspire, motivate, develop, and lead a team in a dynamic and complex environment.

• Strong strategic, analytical, self-awareness, and interpersonal capabilities.

• Ability to work independently with flexibility and organizational insight.

• Experience in managing a diverse team of geographically dispersed professionals.

• Proficient in managing projects in a remote setting, prioritizing, successfully implementing, and exercising sound judgment.

• Capable of working within a matrixed, multidisciplinary team.

• Ability to drive change in a continually evolving healthcare landscape.

• Agility in adapting to organizational changes and new therapeutic areas.

• Strong problem-solving and networking skills at an enterprise level.

• Ability to collaborate and lead among peers, internal stakeholders, and external customers.

• Self-motivated attitude with accountability, urgency, and good judgment.

• Clinical and technical expertise.

• Capability to quickly adopt and utilize new digital technologies and document medical interactions.

• A valid U.S. driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards.

• Any DUI/DWI or other impaired driving citation within the past 7 years will disqualify the candidate.

• Candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S. by any employer.

• Permanent work authorization in the United States is required.

• U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

• Proximity to an airline hub city is required.

• Preferred: familiarity with internal/external SOPs, policies, and regulations regarding Pfizer/customer interactions.

• Preferred: prior Field Medical experience.
