Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance services independently.

• Be available for emergency calls 24/7 as needed.

• Diagnose critical power systems, identify underlying issues, and execute repairs effectively.

• Comply with job specifications and aim for precision.

• Emphasize preventative maintenance to achieve Zero Defects.

• Engage with customers to inform and educate them on equipment usage.

• Safeguard and manage company tools and equipment.

• Ensure personal vehicle is maintained in a safe condition and keep insurance and licenses up to date.

• Assist in sales by recommending critical power equipment and related products.

• Accurately complete and submit required documentation on time.

• Offer mentorship and training to junior team members.

• Participate in product-specific training and support equipment commissioning.

• Manage battery installation, removal, and disposal processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technology or a related discipline is required.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in servicing, troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining critical power or similar equipment.

• A willingness to acquire technical skills through various training methods.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Capability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.

• Self-driven and capable of independently managing workload.

• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Factory training or equivalent experience in the repair and maintenance of various leading UPS brands is preferred.

• Previous field service experience in critical power is preferred.

• Competence with electrical and electronic testing equipment.

• A solid understanding of electrical and electronic fundamentals.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical line diagrams and schematics.

• Knowledge of Ohm's law and electronic theory.

• Capability to assess equipment operating conditions.

• Ability to regularly lift at least 50 pounds.

• A valid driver's license with auto insurance is required.

• Current vehicle insurance and licenses are mandatory.
