This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Assist the Field Service Organization in the deployment and upkeep of essential digital mobile communication systems for governmental and public safety communications clients.
• Install, enhance, and troubleshoot infrastructure, public safety loggers, subscribers, microwave systems, computers, servers, and networking equipment.
• Deliver technical assistance and advanced diagnostics for software-driven electronics and specialized system applications.
• Provision communication system infrastructure and enhance RF and Broadband architecture, covering legacy analog, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure.
• Oversee, enhance, test, document, and provide support for intricate communication systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, trend analysis, and documentation to guarantee proper system functionality.
• Formulate solutions for complex technical challenges during system maintenance, upgrades, and support scenarios.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Sales, Customer Service, clients, and subcontractor partners.
• Deliver weekly updates on activities and achievements.
• Maintain server hardware/OS and software infrastructure while diagnosing system/application issues.
• Offer and present technical training and assist in integrating new tools and solutions into team operations.
• Participate in on-call support for mission-critical public safety systems 24/7/365.
• Associate degree in technology or a related field OR relevant industry certifications.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining the necessary security clearance for government contracts.
• Must successfully complete a stringent fingerprint background check under the CJIS Security Policy.
• Legal authorization to work indefinitely in the U.S.; employer work permit sponsorship is not available.
• Familiarity with RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems, networking equipment, and IT networks.
• Understanding of wired/wireless communications systems, including LAN and WAN.
• Knowledge of standard telephony, dedicated data circuits, and packet-switching techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
• Experience in configuring and testing channel banks, routers, hubs, and switches.
• Capability to develop and deliver technical training.
• Ability to incorporate new tools and solutions into team operations.
• Strong self-management and interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to work with minimal direct supervision and resolve customer issues promptly in high-pressure situations.
• FCC license and industry certifications such as ETA are advantageous.
• Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time.
