Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver top-tier technical support, optimization, and documentation for specialized communication systems.

• Diagnose issues with software-driven electronics and enhance RF and Broadband architectures.

• Engage with legacy analog, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure technologies.

• Program, configure, optimize, test, and document intricate communication systems.

• Create and execute solutions for complex technical challenges during system implementation, upgrades, or support tasks.

• Conduct preventative maintenance routines, trend analysis, and detailed documentation.

• Provide thorough weekly reports outlining activities and achievements.

• Install, configure, and sustain computer networks, which include cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges.

• Set up server hardware, operating systems, and software infrastructure; troubleshoot system and application issues.

• Support Public Safety clients across the T5 South territory, focusing primarily on projects in Missouri.

• Travel over 75% of the time to assist customers in Missouri, Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, and Iowa.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in one of the following areas: LMR, RF Systems, Radio Communications, Radio Frequency, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, Military, Motorola equipment, IT Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Engineering, or Networking equipment.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely.

• Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this role.

• A current, valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.

• Knowledge and expertise in wired communication systems (LAN/WAN).

• Proficient in computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance, including cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges.

• Capable of installing server hardware/Operating Systems and software infrastructure, as well as troubleshooting system/application issues.

• Familiarity with standard telephony, dedicated data circuits, and packet switching techniques.

• High computer literacy, with proficiency in Google Suite, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.

• Understanding of RF systems, including transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks.

• Proficient in using communications test equipment.

• Strong self-management and self-motivation abilities.

• Exceptional communication skills.

• Capability to resolve customer issues swiftly in high-pressure situations.

• Must successfully pass a rigorous CJIS fingerprint background check conducted by Motorola Solutions clients.
