This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Develop and foster robust, collaborative relationships with customer stakeholders.
• Advise customers on their laboratory requirements and provide ongoing support throughout the product lifecycle, including upgrades and changes.
• Carry out or assist in the installation of sophisticated diagnostic instruments, software, and reagent applications in customer laboratories.
• Validate system performance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and ensure the effective application of newly installed solutions.
• Deliver and occasionally create comprehensive on-site training for laboratory personnel on Roche systems, covering operation theory, workflow, quality control, and data interpretation.
• Address complex technical challenges related to instrumentation, software, and assay performance.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective measures to reduce instrument downtime.
• Collaborate with Roche team members to implement and support comprehensive solutions, including automation and digital tools.
• Offer scientific and application expertise to laboratory stakeholders and medical professionals.
• Streamline workflows, implement new assays, and interpret results for Roche’s product offerings.
• Gather customer feedback regarding product performance, features, and usability, and communicate it to support and commercial teams.
• Work alongside sales during pre-sales activities, such as product demonstrations, technical consultations, menu optimization, and post-sales revenue opportunities.
• Adhere to Roche protocols and procedures to ensure consistent customer experiences.
• Maintain records of service activities, customer interactions, and technical issues in Roche’s CRM system.
• Complete administrative tasks, including travel and expense reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, or relevant experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in a clinical laboratory or IT within a clinical lab environment, including internships, college, and certification time.
• Medical Laboratory Technologist/Scientist (ASCP/AMT) certification or equivalent clinical laboratory experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience in a clinical environment with proven knowledge of clinical chemistry and immunoassay.
• Capacity to learn Roche solutions relevant to applicable franchises, including chemistry, immunology, life sciences, and IT solutions.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving technical problems efficiently and effectively.
• Experience in implementing new instrumentation or methodologies in a clinical or research laboratory environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in project and stakeholder management.
• Excellent customer consultative skills, including advanced scientific knowledge and analysis, training, exceptional customer engagement, and the ability to build strong customer relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach junior staff, leading by example.
• Capability to function as a field-based individual contributor with independence and autonomy.
• Willingness to travel overnight within a designated territory.
• Preference for candidates residing in the Syracuse/Utica area for the territory.
• Anticipate 50% or more travel based on business needs.
