This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.
• Develop and sustain collaborative partnerships with customer stakeholders to enhance customer satisfaction and laboratory operations.
• Advise customers on their laboratory requirements and provide ongoing support throughout the product lifecycle, including upgrades and modifications.
• Execute or assist with the installation of intricate diagnostic instruments, software, and reagent applications in customer laboratories.
• Validate system performance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and ensure the effective utilization of newly installed solutions.
• Provide and, at times, create on-site training for laboratory staff on Roche systems, covering operation theory, workflow, quality control, and data interpretation.
• Troubleshoot complex technical challenges related to instrumentation, software, and assay performance.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective measures to reduce instrument downtime.
• Collaborate with Roche team members to deliver and support comprehensive solutions, including automation and digital tools.
• Offer scientific and application expertise to laboratory stakeholders and medical professionals.
• Streamline workflows, introduce new assays, and interpret results pertaining to Roche’s product line.
• Gather customer feedback on product performance, features, and usability and communicate it to support and commercial teams.
• Collaborate with sales during pre-sales initiatives, product demonstrations, technical consultations, menu optimization, and post-sales revenue-generating activities.
• Adhere to Roche protocols and procedures while maintaining accurate records in Roche’s CRM system.
• Complete administrative responsibilities, including travel and expense reporting.
• Travel overnight within the assigned territory as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, or relevant experience.
• 3 years of prior experience in a clinical laboratory or IT within a clinical lab setting, including internships, college, and certification periods.
• Medical Laboratory Technologist/Scientist (ASCP/AMT) certification or similar clinical laboratory experience in a clinical environment preferred.
• Familiarity with clinical chemistry and immunoassay.
• Capability to learn Roche solutions for relevant franchises, including chemistry, immunology, life sciences, and IT solutions.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently and effectively.
• Experience in implementing new instrumentation or methodologies in a clinical or research laboratory environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills along with experience in project and stakeholder management.
• Excellent customer consultative skills, advanced scientific knowledge and analysis, training, customer engagement, and relationship-building abilities.
• Proven ability to coach and mentor junior staff and lead by example.
• Capacity to work independently as a field-based individual contributor with autonomy.
• Willingness to travel 50% or more, including overnight travel.
• Ideal candidate should reside in the Portland, ME area.
