Field Applications Scientist – Cell Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary applications and scientific resource for clients located in the Eastern United States

• Address customer challenges while enhancing instrument and assay workflows to achieve accurate and reproducible results

• Comprehend customer cell types, samples, molecules, and objectives

• Identify sample- and instrument-related factors that lead to variable or inconsistent outcomes

• Provide support for antibody and protein quantification applications

• Assist customers in obtaining reliable and optimized measurements

• Conduct product demonstrations, on-site training sessions, and application support both in the field and through web-based platforms

• Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and R&D teams to troubleshoot issues and explore opportunities

• Gather Voice of Customer feedback and communicate it to Product Management and R&D

• Contribute to the development of future product iterations and ensure the ongoing performance of the portfolio

• Travel to customer sites and engage in moderate physical activities, including lifting and carrying materials


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or a related life science field

• At least 5 years of pertinent life sciences experience in field applications, technical support, or within a laboratory/bioprocess environment

• Practical experience in mammalian cell culture, ideally encompassing fed-batch culture, maintenance, counting, and viability assessment of mammalian cell lines such as CHO and HEK

• Proficient knowledge of cell counting and viability analysis

• Capability to troubleshoot and optimize processes across various cell types

• Willingness and capacity to travel throughout the Eastern U.S. territory, potentially up to 85%

• A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record

• Ability to operate independently from a home office

• Willingness to travel approximately 3 days per week in the field

• Experience in cell line development and familiarity with antibody/monoclonal IgG production is highly preferred

• Understanding the structure and conformation of antibodies and their impact on quantification and assay behavior

• Experience in process development or drug manufacturing within a biopharma/biotech context

• Hands-on experience with multimode microplate readers, especially those utilizing fluorescence polarization detection

• Knowledge of B2B and QC/QA/R&D customer needs as well as pharma/biopharma validation processes such as GMP, IQ, and OQ
