Field Application Specialist – Ambr Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist with customer evaluations, application assessments, and technical consultations.

• Convert process requirements into product and workflow suggestions.

• Offer troubleshooting and training for upstream systems, such as bioreactors, PAT, SCADA, automation solutions, and related consumables.

• Conduct application trials, validations, proof-of-concept activities, and customer training sessions.

• Design, coordinate, and document evaluation plans, onboarding activities, and outcomes tailored to customers.

• Address technical inquiries, application challenges, and product performance concerns.

• Collaborate on corrective actions with relevant departments.

• Deliver application expertise throughout the opportunity development process.

• Provide technical insights, competitive positioning, and solution suggestions.

• Gather customer feedback, application trends, and competitive intelligence.

• Share actionable insights with Product Management and other stakeholders.

• Assist in training Field Application Specialists and Sales colleagues.

• Educate customers on new technologies and support initial startup operations.

• Contribute to internal learning initiatives and team capability development.

• Support the Quality Department during complaint investigations.

• Prepare monthly reports on territory activities for management.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated professional experience; Master’s degree is preferred.

• Over 3 years of experience in application support, technical support, field application, laboratory, process development, or related customer-facing roles within upstream bioprocessing environments.

• Experience in Process Development, MSAT, cGMP Manufacturing, and/or Tech Transfer teams.

• Familiarity with biologics or cell and gene therapy applications is advantageous.

• Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Ambr bioreactors and relevant customer workflows.

• Proficiency in high-throughput experimental design is a plus.

• Capable of troubleshooting technical and application-related challenges in customer environments.

• Hands-on experience conducting demonstrations, evaluations, trials, and customer training.

• Ability to document findings, outcomes, and recommendations in a systematic manner.

• Capability to collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Quality, and other cross-functional stakeholders within a matrix environment.

• Strong customer focus and the ability to translate customer needs into effective application solutions.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Experience with Salesforce, Tableau, and system control software is a bonus.

• Willingness to travel over 50% of the time.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
