This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Organize and conduct on-site instrument demonstrations as well as remote software demonstrations for SPT Labtech liquid handlers.
• Present pre-sales technical information collaboratively with Territory Managers and Product Specialists.
• Maintain a comprehensive operational understanding of SPT Labtech and Apricot liquid handling products.
• Keep up-to-date with high-level knowledge in pertinent application areas.
• Offer specialized support to FAS, Territory Management, and Product Specialist teams.
• Schedule and provide application-based training for both new and existing instrument users.
• Deliver remote and on-site application support to end users.
• Create, modify, and enhance advanced liquid handling and automation protocols to improve customer workflows.
• Contribute to conference strategies and represent the company at conferences throughout the UK and Europe.
• Ensure customer contacts and application data are up-to-date in Salesforce.
• Mentor and support Associate FAS colleagues as necessary.
• Produce marketing materials such as application notes, webinars, instructional videos, conference presentations, and posters.
• Engage in strategic collaborations to generate scientific content.
• Gather customer feedback on products and software to guide development.
• Maintain robust customer relationships through technical support and timely issue resolution.
• Collaborate with colleagues across various time zones and travel extensively within the UK, Europe, and occasionally beyond.
• An MSc with a minimum of five years of practical experience, or a PhD with at least two years of experience, in biological sciences, liquid handling, laboratory automation, or a related field.
• Candidates with substantial practical experience in laboratory automation are encouraged to apply, even if they do not meet the specified academic or experience requirements.
• Proficiency in NGS methods utilized in research.
• Experience in workflow optimization within genomics, drug discovery, and structural biology.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Willingness to travel extensively, up to 75%, including internationally.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, troubleshooting, record-keeping, and communication skills.
• Strong presentation and training capabilities, with a proven track record of effectively transferring knowledge.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
• Hands-on experience with liquid handling and laboratory automation is desirable.
• Practical experience in genomics or molecular biology is desirable.
• Previous experience in field applications, teaching, marketing, or customer service is desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a history of mentoring others is desirable.
• Proficiency in additional European languages is desirable.
