This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Deliver thorough scientific consultation to support account management in collaboration with the internal sales team within the designated territory/region.
• Assess new potential instrument opportunities.
• Educate, train, and assist both new and existing customers on MSD instrumentation and data analysis.
• Conduct training for customers on MSD assays, instrumentation, and software.
• Aid customers in troubleshooting assays and analyzing data.
• Support customers in developing their own assays on the MSD platform.
• Participate in scientific meetings, conferences, and trade shows, providing feedback and reports.
• Facilitate communication between sales and marketing teams to address customer issues and broaden the customer base through scientific networking.
• Offer scientific seminars and conferences to potential customers as needed.
• Collaborate with account managers during the strategic sales process to increase sales of instruments and consumables.
• Conduct internal scientific training sessions for sales, FAS, and management teams.
• Generate reports and presentations based on assay development visits and new evaluations.
• Share field feedback with team members, account managers, and internal departments.
• Record activities and customer interactions in Salesforce.com.
• Monitor, identify, and evaluate new literature referencing MSD products and methodologies.
• Stay informed about competitor technologies and provide strategic insights to the sales team.
• Travel frequently to customer locations and operate in laboratory settings as necessary.
• A Ph.D. in Life Sciences or a related field is required.
• A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, along with equivalent experience, will be considered.
• A minimum of three years of practical experience in a molecular biology lab, clinical lab, discovery lab, or biochemistry within a research or clinical environment.
• Previous experience in field application or scientific support is preferred.
• Experience in protein biochemistry is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical skills and a solid foundation in scientific principles.
• Strong logical problem-solving skills and the capacity to organize and progress project tasks methodically.
• Comprehensive understanding of immunoassay principles, development, and their application across various research fields.
• Capability to independently conduct assay and reagent troubleshooting, optimization, and validation experiments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in conveying laboratory issues, challenges, and results that affect timelines, accuracy, and data reliability.
• Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills for engaging with customers.
• Familiarity with software and software systems is desirable.
• Willingness to travel and work outside of regular business hours as required.
• Ability to communicate and exchange information, use necessary equipment, navigate the office, and travel regularly.
• Capacity to work in laboratory environments that may involve chemicals and hazardous materials.
