Field Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical liaison between Tenstorrent and clients in Southeast Asia.

• Collaborate with customers, partners, sales teams, and global engineering departments to comprehend AI and machine learning workloads.

• Oversee technical evaluations and implementations.

• Resolve issues related to hardware and software.

• Assist clients in maximizing the performance of Tenstorrent’s AI platforms.

• Foster relationships with regional customers.

• Design and implement AI/ML solutions tailored to customer applications, including Generative AI and LLM projects.

• Manage the customer engagement process from pre-sales technical assessments and demonstrations to proof-of-concept execution and production rollout.

• Work in conjunction with product development, engineering, research, sales, and business development teams.

• Help establish regional service capabilities and support the growth of a Tenstorrent office in Southeast Asia.

• Travel frequently throughout Southeast Asia for on-site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept implementation.

• Customer-centric technical expert capable of building trust with application developers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.

• Ability to simplify complex AI/ML hardware and software concepts into clear suggestions for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving capabilities.

• Capacity to coordinate internal teams, external service providers, and customer stakeholders across Southeast Asia.

• Readiness and capability to travel to customer locations for installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept execution.

• Over 5 years of experience working with AI-related hardware and software technologies.

• Background as a Field Application Engineer, Application Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or in a similar customer-facing technical position focused on AI/ML software and hardware.

• Proficient in Python programming.

• Strong familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.

• Preferred experience with Generative AI, LLMs, vision models, model deployment, training, or fine-tuning.

• Experience in designing scalable AI solutions and deploying applications in cloud environments.

• Skilled in physically installing, relocating, and repairing servers, accelerator cards, and PCIe devices.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Experience with C++, CUDA, parallel programming, or kernel development is an advantage.

• Proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Malay is considered a plus.

• Employment is contingent upon eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology; citizenship/permanent residency or prior license approval may be necessary.
