Field Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Serve as a primary technical partner for customers, gaining insight into their challenges and customizing solutions accordingly.

• Convert customer requirements into standardized application and project solutions.

• Recognize opportunities for solution enhancement and promote complementary products through cross-selling and upselling.

• Oversee product selection, system configuration, and foundational solution design.

• Create technical solution packages that include CAD drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical specifications.

• Engage in customer meetings alongside the Sales team and, on occasion, a Senior Application Engineer.

• Conduct customer visits in collaboration with Key Account Managers and Strategic Account Managers.

• Ensure that solutions are consistent with manufacturing capabilities and meet quality and cost expectations.

• Assist in quality-related investigations and documentation, including Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA) and deviations.

• Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and customer-facing events as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent technical background.

• Demonstrated experience in technical support or application engineering, preferably within an industrial automation or manufacturing setting.

• Strong technical knowledge of electro-mechanical components, pneumatic systems, and motion control principles.

• Competency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Inventor) and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to articulate technical concepts into straightforward value propositions.

• Customer-focused mindset with robust problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Collaborative and proactive disposition; capable of working efficiently across teams and functions.

• Comfortable presenting technical solutions and providing training to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Proficient in English.

• Willingness to travel within the region.

• Travel commitment of 3–4 days per week, including overnight stays.
