This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, offering account management assistance to healthcare professionals and their teams on behalf of patients using approved products.
• Provide educational insights to accounts regarding the Patient Services program, the regional payer landscape, and access to pharmacy channels.
• Facilitate pull-through initiatives for patients prescribed medications, coordinating with HUB, specialty pharmacies, and other channels once proper HIPAA consent is obtained.
• Represent Patient Services platforms as the main liaison within designated healthcare provider offices.
• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance patient access to products.
• Foster advocacy within healthcare provider offices and inform staff about access and payer approval procedures.
• Identify challenges related to access and emphasize healthcare provider actions that facilitate patient access to therapies.
• Offer resources to assist with prior authorizations, appeals, specialty pharmacy, and resolving access issues.
• Oversee the utilization of patient service platforms, including HUB and specialty pharmacy pathways.
• Manage annual pharmacy reauthorizations to ensure the timely continuation of therapy.
• Work cross-functionally with Sales, Market Access, Patient Services, and Strategic Accounts.
• Identify and address urgent market development and implementation initiatives aimed at eliminating access barriers and enhancing adherence.
• Develop and execute strategic business plans for key accounts while implementing market access initiatives.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of national, regional, and local payer landscapes, specialty pharmacy, and utilization management criteria.
• Share field insights that support access and patient/payer support programs.
• Proactively anticipate, navigate, and resolve access issues related to individual accounts and patients with stakeholders.
• Exhibit a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required; a healthcare degree is advantageous, including MS, RN, PA, PharmD, or a similar advanced healthcare/scientific degree.
• Over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on payer policy and patient access.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in benefit verifications and/or prior-authorization requirements, or equivalent experience in patient access.
• Familiarity with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) policies and processes, including Medicare Parts B & D.
• Knowledge of specialty markets, HUB/reimbursement services, and patient access programs.
• Strong comprehension of specialty product access and reimbursement processes, including Patient Support Services programs.
• Excellent analytical abilities to evaluate market dynamics, competitor activities, and ongoing diabetes monitoring trends.
• Proficient in gathering and interpreting data to inform regional strategies, including HUB and patient claims data.
• Understanding of Integrated Delivery Networks/Integrated Health Systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications and capable of conducting virtual engagements via Microsoft Teams.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills; the ability to manage numerous priorities with initiative and independence.
• Demonstrated success in a cross-functional environment.
• Capability to deliver impactful educational presentations.
• Strong knowledge of Veeva systems.
• Experience in Pediatric Endocrinology and/or Endocrinology is preferred.
• Previous launch experience in an Access/Reimbursement role is preferred.
• Previous biopharmaceutical industry experience in product marketing, managed care, field sales, case management, or within a large healthcare practice is a plus.
