This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts, delivering account management support to healthcare professionals and their teams on behalf of patients prescribed approved products.

• Offer continuous education regarding the Patient Services program, the regional payer landscape, and pharmacy channel access.

• Coordinate efforts to support prescribed patients through HUB, specialty pharmacy, and other channels, ensuring proper HIPAA consent is obtained.

• Act as the leading representative of Patient Services platforms within designated healthcare professional offices.

• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance patient access to products.

• Foster advocacy within healthcare professional offices and educate staff on access and payer approval procedures.

• Recognize access obstacles and emphasize the necessary actions healthcare professionals must take to address them.

• Provide educational materials to support prior authorizations, appeals, specialty pharmacy, and resolution of access issues.

• Oversee the utilization of the patient service platform when offices opt for HUB or specialty pharmacy pathways.

• Manage annual pharmacy reauthorizations to ensure uninterrupted therapy continuation.

• Work collaboratively across functions with Sales, Market Access, Patient Services, Strategic Accounts, and other partners as a process and payer specialist.

• Identify and tackle urgent market development and implementation initiatives to eliminate access barriers and enhance adherence.

• Develop and implement strategic business plans for key accounts and market access initiatives.

• Stay informed about national, regional, and local payer landscapes, specialty pharmacy, utilization management criteria, and formularies.

• Provide field insights to bolster access and patient/payer support programs.

• Anticipate, navigate, and resolve account and patient access challenges in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

• Show dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion through ongoing development and inclusive practices.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required.

• A healthcare degree is advantageous, including MS, RN, PA, PharmD, or a similar advanced healthcare/scientific qualification.

• Over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on payer policy and patient access.

• At least 5 years of experience in benefit verifications and/or prior-authorization requirements, or equivalent patient access experience.

• Familiarity with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) policies and procedures, including Medicare Parts B & D.

• Understanding of specialty markets, HUB/reimbursement services, and patient access programs.

• Strong grasp of specialty product access/reimbursement processes, including Patient Support Services programs.

• Excellent analytical skills to evaluate market dynamics, competitor activities, and ongoing diabetes monitoring trends.

• Capability to collect and interpret data to inform regional strategy, including the role of HUB and patient claims data.

• Knowledge of Integrated Delivery Networks/Integrated Health Systems.

• Proficient in Microsoft applications and capable of conducting virtual interactions via Microsoft Teams.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities with exceptional organizational and problem-solving capabilities, initiative, and independence.

• Demonstrated success in a cross-functional setting.

• Proficient in delivering impactful educational presentations.

• Strong familiarity with Veeva systems.

• Experience in Pediatric Endocrinology and/or Endocrinology is preferred.

• Previous launch experience in an Access/Reimbursement role is preferred.

• Experience in other biopharmaceutical industry functions is a plus.
