This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Serve as the primary liaison at assigned accounts, delivering account management support to healthcare professionals and their teams on behalf of patients prescribed approved products.
β’ Inform accounts about the Patient Services program, the regional payer landscape, and pharmacy channel accessibility.
β’ Facilitate pull-through initiatives for patients with prescriptions across HUB, specialty pharmacy, and other channels once HIPAA consent is obtained.
β’ Represent the Patient Services platforms within the designated healthcare professional offices.
β’ Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance patient access to products.
β’ Increase advocacy within healthcare professional offices and educate staff on access and payer approval processes.
β’ Recognize access barriers and emphasize healthcare professional actions that promote patient access to therapy.
β’ Provide educational materials that assist with prior authorizations, appeals, specialty pharmacy, and resolving access issues.
β’ Oversee the use of patient service platforms through HUB or specialty pharmacy pathways.
β’ Manage annual pharmacy reauthorizations to ensure timely continuation of therapy.
β’ Work collaboratively across departments, including Sales, Market Access, Patient Services, Strategic Accounts, and other partners.
β’ Identify and tackle urgent market development and implementation efforts to eliminate access barriers and enhance adherence.
β’ Develop and implement strategic business plans for key accounts and execute market access initiatives.
β’ Stay informed about national, regional, and local payer landscapes, specialty pharmacy, and utilization management criteria.
β’ Comprehend how payer/PBM/specialty pharmacy alignments and pharmacy formularies impact market access.
β’ Offer field insights that support access and patient/payer support programs.
β’ Anticipate, navigate, and resolve individual account and patient access challenges.
β’ Exhibit a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
β’ A Bachelorβs degree is required.
β’ A degree in healthcare is advantageous, including MS, RN, PA, PharmD, or similar advanced healthcare/scientific qualifications.
β’ Over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on payer policy and patient access.
β’ More than 5 years of experience in benefit verifications and/or prior authorization requirements, or equivalent experience in patient access.
β’ Familiarity with the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) policies and processes, including Medicare Parts B & D.
β’ Knowledge and understanding of specialty markets, HUB/reimbursement services, and patient access programs.
β’ Strong grasp of specialty product access/reimbursement processes, including Patient Support Services programs.
β’ Exceptional analytical skills for evaluating market dynamics, competitor activities, and ongoing diabetes monitoring trends.
β’ Capability to collect and interpret data to inform regional strategies, including HUB and patient claims data.
β’ Understanding of Integrated Delivery Networks/Integrated Health Systems.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft applications and experienced in conducting virtual meetings via Microsoft Teams.
β’ Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, demonstrating initiative and independence.
β’ Proven track record of success in a cross-functional environment.
β’ Skilled in delivering impactful educational presentations.
β’ Familiarity with Veeva systems is essential.
β’ An advanced degree is preferred.
β’ Experience in Pediatric Endocrinology and/or Endocrinology is preferred.
β’ Previous experience in an Access/Reimbursement role during product launches is advantageous.
β’ Background in other biopharmaceutical functions, such as product marketing, managed care, field sales, case management, or large healthcare practice experience, is a plus.
