Field Access Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the proactive identification and resolution of patient access challenges related to payer coverage, prior authorizations, step edits, copay assistance, and specialty pharmacy routing.

• Collaborate with healthcare provider (HCP) offices to facilitate benefits verification and offer education on payer documentation standards and available patient support resources.

• Examine and interpret data from HUBs, specialty pharmacies, and payers to pinpoint systemic access gaps and implement compliance-approved process enhancements or educational initiatives.

• Act as a field access subject matter expert, delivering authorized access education to internal stakeholders in alignment with compliance-approved resources.

• Work in conjunction with Market Access, Patient Services, and HUB vendors to enhance pull-through efficiency and address recurring access challenges.

• Assist in launch readiness and lifecycle management by early identification of access barriers and executing field-based mitigation strategies.

• Track key access performance indicators, such as time to fill, prior authorization approval rates, abandonment rates, and conversion rates, translating insights into actionable plans.

• Handle high-priority case escalations that involve complex reimbursement or payer challenges necessitating cross-functional collaboration.

• Conduct regional monitoring of payer landscapes, identifying policy modifications or coverage changes that impact patient access.

• Provide structured field insights to cross-functional partners to guide access strategy, HUB optimization, and enhancements to patient support programs.

• Ensure compliant and accurate documentation of case activities, interventions, and outcomes within CRM systems.

• Serve as a conduit between strategy and execution, confirming that access strategies are effectively implemented in the field.

• Travel throughout the designated New Jersey territory to engage with healthcare providers, patient support stakeholders, specialty pharmacies, and other access-related partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, healthcare administration, or a related discipline (advanced degree is preferred but not mandatory).

• Over 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical field reimbursement, patient access services, HUB services, specialty pharmacy, or market access support roles.

• In-depth understanding of payer dynamics, reimbursement pathways, prior authorization processes, and specialty pharmacy distribution models.

• Experience working with HUB systems, case management platforms, and specialty pharmacy data feeds.

• Proven ability to resolve intricate access and reimbursement cases in a field-based or customer-facing capacity.

• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical access data sources and processes, including claims, benefit verification, SP reporting, and payer policy tracking.

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities, with the skill to break down complex reimbursement scenarios into clear, actionable steps.

• Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities with HCP offices, field teams, and internal stakeholders.

• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced launch or high-growth commercial environment with numerous priorities.

• Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI is advantageous.

• Prior experience in training or supporting field sales teams on access and reimbursement topics is preferred.

• The ideal candidate will reside within the New Jersey territory and within a 100-mile radius of a major commercial airport.
