This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Oversee and coordinate the deployment of Zayo's long-haul OSP to align with customer expectations and Zayo's standards.
• Ensure budget alignment and consistency throughout the process.
• Manage daily operations with OSP vendors to facilitate the splicing and testing of fiber optic OSP facilities.
• Conduct active testing evaluations to confirm that fibers satisfy OSP requirements.
• Participate in a mandatory rotating on-call duty for network outages and emergency restoration efforts.
• Coordinate vendor access to customer locations and network points of presence.
• Assist in the planning and execution of fiber connectivity solution programs and projects within approved parameters, budgets, and schedules.
• Provide specialized telecommunications technical expertise.
• Collaborate with internal and external resources to ensure timely project completion.
• Oversee technical products, services, programs, policies, procedures, controls, and services for the units under management.
• Implement commercial and carrier fiber networks, infrastructure, backbone, and lateral constructions.
• Manage customer-installation projects and services in data center environments.
• Ensure vendor compliance with OSP deliverables.
• Create and monitor project budgets in relation to Network Operations.
• Interact directly with customers, subcontractors, jurisdictional authorities, and interoffice personnel.
• Support customer meetings, which may include in-person attendance and travel to client or construction sites.
• Oversee the procurement of project equipment and materials.
• Execute the bidding process, including budget requirements and tracking.
• Verify and update project documentation as necessary.
• Monitor project progress and budgets using Sitetracker and manual tracking methods.
• Update budget requests, purchase orders, project closeouts, and internal service orders in Salesforce.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• At least five (5) years of experience in the telecommunications industry.
• Familiarity with outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project management is essential.
• Preferred knowledge of fiber optic cable splicing and testing.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience with various types of outside plant construction.
• Experience in managing large capital projects is required.
• Proficiency in Email, MS Excel, Word, Google Earth, and AutoCAD.
• Ability to manage multiple aggressive RFP and design construction schedules and responses effectively.
• Capability to understand and interpret construction and fiber splicing documents.
• Familiarity with all aspects of OSP management, including quoting, construction, troubleshooting, and delivery.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to assigned projects.
• Ability to conduct on-site surveys and participate in essential field meetings.
• Willingness to meet with municipalities and vendors occasionally to discuss project scope.
