This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deliver specialized field-based education and support for patients throughout their treatment journey within the Rett community.
• Act as a primary contact for Rett families regarding on-label clinical education inquiries related to disease state and product knowledge.
• Offer information on disease state, product details, and ongoing therapy management in a consumer-friendly manner through face-to-face, phone, and virtual interactions.
• Assess the unique needs of individual patients and caregivers, providing suitable education and resources throughout their journey.
• Collaborate effectively with Marketing, Sales, Patient Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, and other internal cross-functional teams across the designated territory.
• Supply insights to internal stakeholders to create tools and resources that address educational gaps and enhance therapy management strategies.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of Acadia Customer Support Programs, encompassing Hub-related initiatives, Patient Assistance Programs, and ambassador speaker programs.
• Facilitate, lead, and present caregiver speaker programs as necessary.
• Participate in community events within the assigned territory.
• Provide prompt in-service education to physician offices regarding the Family Support Educator role and available patient support resources.
• Recognize and pursue leadership opportunities within the Family Support Educator team and among cross-functional partners.
• Mentor and assist in the development of new Family Support Educator team members and interested colleagues from other functions.
• Identify training and professional development opportunities related to Patient Support Services and the wider organization.
• Ensure all activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, policies, and the values of Acadia.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally with a focus on life sciences; RN, MSN, or MBA qualifications are advantageous.
• For Family Support Educator: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Patient Access, National Accounts, or Specialty Pharmacy.
• For Family Support Educator: At least 2 years of experience in Patient Support, Education, or Leadership roles.
• For Senior Family Support Educator: 7+ years of relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Patient Access, National Accounts, or Specialty Pharmacy.
• For Senior Family Support Educator: Minimum of 4 years of experience in Patient Support, Education, or Leadership roles.
• A combination of relevant education and applicable work experience may be considered.
• Expertise in Rare Disease, Product Launch, Advocacy, Medicaid, and Medicare is highly preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
• Experience in patient/caregiver education is required.
• Account Management experience is preferred.
• Advocacy experience is also preferred.
• Strong background and understanding of the healthcare industry environment are essential.
• Experience working with provider offices, patient assistance programs, or similar pharmaceutical support programs is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy is necessary.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills are required.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are essential.
• Ability to manage expenses within set budgets is required.
• Willingness to travel up to 70%, depending on the assigned territory.
• Must comply with all additional local, state, and federal vaccination requirements for in-person field coaching days, customer visits, healthcare provider offices, medical congresses, and local conferences.
• Capability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as dictated by travel schedules or business needs.
