This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based assistance to tāngata whai ora and whānau affected by family and sexual harm.
• Carry out assessments, identify risk factors, and support the development of suitable safety and support plans.
• Employ advanced communication and counselling techniques in complex scenarios.
• Offer guidance, coaching, and support to fellow advisors.
• Establish and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders and support services.
• Identify and address barriers that impact access to support, overall wellbeing, and outcomes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and advocate for best practices.
• Maintain precise records and ensure service delivery aligns with organisational, contractual, and professional standards.
• Operate within a dynamic 24/7 virtual health and social services organisation.
• Relevant tertiary qualification (or in progress) in counselling, psychology, social work, psychotherapy, or a related field, or 2+ years’ experience assisting individuals affected by family violence or sexual harm.
• Actively working towards registration with a pertinent body within the Mental Health and Addictions sector.
• Experience in supervision or coaching roles.
• Ideally, at least 6 months of experience in Telehealth or a similar position, such as Helplines/eTherapy/F2F counselling or Therapy.
• Comprehensive understanding of family and sexual harm dynamics.
• Excellent communication, active listening, and counselling abilities.
• Capability to exercise sound judgement and make informed decisions in complex situations.
• Experience in managing sensitive and challenging conversations with professionalism and empathy.
• Strong planning and organisational capabilities, with the ability to handle competing priorities.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to coach, influence, and motivate others positively.
• Competence in working effectively with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
• Dedication to learning, receiving feedback, and pursuing continuous improvement.
• Flexibility to work various shifts in a 24/7 service; availability for overnight and weekend shifts is highly valued.
