This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.
• Deliver evidence-based, person-centered assistance to individuals and families impacted by family and sexual harm.
• Perform assessments, identify risk factors, and aid in the creation of safety and support plans.
• Employ advanced communication and counseling techniques in complex circumstances.
• Offer guidance, coaching, and support to fellow advisors.
• Establish and nurture relationships with both internal and external stakeholders as well as support services.
• Identify and address barriers that hinder access to support, well-being, and positive outcomes.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives and advocate for best practices.
• Keep accurate records and ensure that service delivery adheres to organizational, contractual, and professional standards.
• Operate within a dynamic 24/7 service across various shifts.
• A relevant tertiary qualification (or currently pursuing) in counseling, psychology, social work, psychotherapy, or a related field, or at least 2 years of experience supporting individuals affected by family violence or sexual harm.
• Actively working towards registration with a relevant organization within the Mental Health and Addictions sector.
• Experience in supervision or coaching roles.
• Ideally, possess 6 or more months of experience in Telehealth or a comparable position, such as helplines, eTherapy, or in-person counseling or therapy.
• Comprehensive understanding of the dynamics surrounding family and sexual harm.
• Excellent communication, active listening, and counseling abilities.
• Capability to exercise sound judgment and make informed decisions in complex scenarios.
• Proven experience in managing sensitive and difficult discussions with professionalism and empathy.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to handle competing priorities.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to coach, influence, and positively motivate others.
• Proficient in working effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• A commitment to continuous learning, feedback, and improvement.
• Willingness to work various shifts in a 24/7 service; overnight and weekend availability is highly valued.
