Family Engagement Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Provide customer support through phone, chat, and email to students, families, and school staff, with a focus on onboarding and engagement.

• Greet new families and assist them in navigating account setup, platform usage, and orientation materials.

• Help with login issues, password resets, platform access, and basic technical assistance.

• Offer guidance on attendance and stress the importance of daily participation and engagement.

• Identify and reach out to students or families exhibiting initial signs of disengagement or inconsistent attendance.

• Conduct follow-up communications in the initial weeks following enrollment.

• Keep records of interactions and support cases in PowerSchool.

• Utilize knowledge of school systems, policies, and procedures to address requests effectively.

• Monitor and communicate customer feedback and recurring issues to school leadership.

• Provide informal peer support by sharing resources and showcasing problem-solving techniques.

• Support leadership and the Family Engagement Coordinator with onboarding, peer coaching, and refresher training.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a resident of North Carolina.

• High School Diploma required.

• At least one (1) year of relevant experience in customer support.

• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

• Ability to successfully pass the required background check.

• Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is necessary.

• Experience with student information systems or similar databases is preferred.

• Keen attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
