Faculty Manager, First-Year Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +42 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee, mentor, and manage the performance of Associate Faculty within the First-Year Experience program.

• Act as the main contact for faculty inquiries, issues, and daily assistance.

• Evaluate faculty performance and deliver prompt feedback and guidance.

• Address performance issues and record coaching or improvement strategies.

• Collaborate with Course Chairs on evaluations, performance challenges, retention, and staffing choices.

• Examine around 50 active course sections weekly to ensure instructional quality, faculty involvement, grading, student engagement, and compliance with expectations.

• Assess metrics related to participation, assignment completion, persistence, outreach, and student outcomes.

• Perform course evaluations and classroom observations as necessary.

• Offer practical recommendations to enhance instructional practices and promote student success.

• Assist in the onboarding and development process for new Associate Faculty.

• Organize faculty learning opportunities and work in conjunction with the Center for Teaching and Learning.

• Partner with Course Chairs, advising personnel, academic leaders, and student support teams to enhance retention, persistence, and student success.

• Engage in initiatives focused on first-year student success and educational effectiveness.

• Instruct four First-Year Experience courses each year.

• Exemplify outstanding instruction, student engagement, responsiveness, and instructional excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree from an accredited institution.

• At least three years of teaching experience in higher education.

• Experience in supervising, coaching, mentoring, or supporting faculty or instructional staff.

• Capability to utilize data, analytics, and performance metrics to guide decisions and foster improvement.

• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building abilities.

• Proficiency in managing multiple priorities while ensuring attention to detail and consistency.

• Experience in developing online courses at the college level is preferred.

• Familiarity with Blackboard or similar learning management systems is preferred.

• Understanding of or experience with AI tools in content creation is preferred.

• Online teaching experience in higher education is preferred.

• Must be physically located and work from an approved state; this position is not available in Alaska, California, Hawaii, or New York.
