Facade Designer/Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design of window and facade systems for all Vertex projects, from initial concept to shop drawings and fabrication-ready documentation.

• Create and annotate detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD.

• Ensure design compliance with Australian Standards, including AS 2047, AS 1288, AS 4284, and AS/NZS 1170.

• Analyze architectural and structural documentation and convert design intent into compliant, manufacturable systems.

• Coordinate and assess supplier fabrication documentation.

• Address technical inquiries directly with manufacturers in China.

• Utilize practical judgment regarding fabrication and onsite installation requirements.

• Travel to China as needed to meet suppliers, evaluate samples, and inspect fabrication.

• Lead technical discussions with clients and the internal project team via Teams.

• Act as the offshore technical authority across the project portfolio, collaborating with the Operations Manager and the Australia-based Project Engineer.

• Transform design intent into buildable, fabrication-ready systems and resolve technical details throughout project scopes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidate must be based in the Philippines.

• Significant, demonstrable experience in the design of window and facade systems within the commercial construction sector.

• Proven capacity to independently lead a technical scope and take responsibility for design outcomes.

• Essential advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.

• Familiarity with Australian Standards applicable to windows and facades, including AS 2047, AS 1288, AS 4284, and AS/NZS 1170.

• Practical knowledge of window system fabrication and onsite installation requirements acquired through real project delivery.

• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.

• Confidence and technical expertise to conduct discussions with clients and project teams via video calls.

• Willingness to travel to China to meet suppliers as necessary.

• Direct experience in coordinating with Chinese aluminium and glazing manufacturers.

• Experience with curtain wall systems, structural glazing, and aluminium systems beyond just windows.

• Familiarity with M365 and SharePoint for project collaboration.

• Relevant engineering qualification in a related field.

• Must disclose any ongoing roles or client work.
