External Communications Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +11 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the CEO's trusted advisor for communications and develop a comprehensive communications strategy for the company.

• Manage Karat's media presence by securing and transforming press, podcast, and broadcast interest into coverage.

• Design campaigns for thought leadership, corporate achievements, and product launches.

• Establish and maintain the CEO's public profile through LinkedIn, the company blog, and external bylines.

• Ghostwrite talking points, bylines, keynote presentations, and prepare the CEO for media engagements and speaking events.

• Define the CEO's speaking strategy and secure prestigious speaking opportunities.

• Oversee the PR agency partnership, ensuring accountability for measurable results.

• Collaborate closely with the CEO and communications leaders, maintaining regular hours that align with executives in the Greater Seattle Area.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in communications, covering PR, media relations, and executive communications.

• In-house experience at a rapidly growing tech or B2B organization.

• Proven success in securing earned media and developing executive platforms for senior leaders.

• Experience in ghostwriting for executives.

• Ability to develop narratives and campaigns tailored for specific target audiences.

• Experience in managing PR agency partners to achieve measurable goals.

• Background in coaching executives for media interviews, external events, and internal meetings.

• Self-motivated and proactive, with the capacity to work independently across multiple projects.

• B2B communications experience, especially with CIO/CTO audiences and developer technologies, is a plus.

• Candidates must reside in CA, D.C., FL, GA, IL, MA, MO, NY, OR, PA, TX, VA, or WA.
